Betty Joann Dacus

Mrs. Betty Joann McGee Dacus, 69, wife of Grady Gene Dacus, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Pendleton, SC, a daughter of the late Odis O'Dell and Mary Runie Gilstrap McGee, Betty was a devoted wife, loving Mother, homemaker, and member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Pendleton.

She was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers. She possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing, love, and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her smile and laughter, will never be forgotten.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 54 years, are a daughter, Jean Dacus Fisher (Don) of Belton; daughter-in-law, Tina Dacus of LaFrance; sister, Beth McGee Brucke of Westminster; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and numerous caring relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Christopher Dell Dacus; and brother, Bobby O'Dell McGee.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Pendleton with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.
