Betty Sue Burrell Loftis, 80, of Easley and wife of Joe A. Loftis, Sr., passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital - Downtown.
Mrs. Loftis was born in Greenville County, SC, the daughter of the late Gurley Claude and Ruby Lee Yearwood Burrell. She retired from Winn-Dixie and later retired from Lowe's as manager of the tool department. She was a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church where she formerly taught Sunday School and was active in the youth program.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Joe A. Loftis, Jr. (Wanda), of Easley, SC and Jerry A. Loftis (Diane), of Iva, SC; a daughter, Laura McGinnis (Mike), of Easley, SC; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Loftis and Gary Loftis and by a brother, Frank Burrell.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 13, 2013 at Georges Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Jim Brooks and the Reverend Jim McManus officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM Friday, prior to the service, at the church.
The family is at their home.
