Betty Jane Gossard Martin

Mrs. Betty Jane Gossard Martin, 94, widow of the late Howard Walter Martin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Capstone Health and Rehab of Easley.

Mrs. Martin was born on August 16, 1920, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Roy Gossard & Bonnie Mae Smith Gossard. She enjoyed her church, her community and being in the outdoors. Mrs. Martin was active in the Eastern Star and the Crane Villagers Homemakers Club (Indiana). She was a homemaker and above all, valued her family and time spent with them. Mrs. Martin was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Martin is survived by two sons; Steven James Martin (Barbara), of Bedford, Indiana, and David Howard Martin (Beth), of Bloomington, Indiana; two daughters, Linda Mae Allan (Dave), of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Julie Fae Waters (Larry), of Easley. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Robin Bellomy (Greg), Jarrod Martin, Eric Martin, April Jullian, Missy Neff (Derek), Brian Bock (Jeanna), Angela Garrett, Sheila Kelly (Joe), and Melanie Newton (Evan); fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband of 53 years and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren; Frank Bock and Justin Martin.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Easley First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Rodney Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 until 2:45 PM.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Julie Waters, 305 Burdine Drive, Easley, SC, 29640.
