Mrs. Betty Jo Spence Phillips, 87, wife of the late James Austin Phillips, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Henry Milton Spence and the late Tecola Garrett, Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Piedmont High School and retired from JP Stevens-Estes Plant with thirty-five years of service. She was a member of Piedmont Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are a grandson, Mitchell Austin Phillips (Jessica Fredericks) of Piedmont; two sisters, Linda Bryant and Martha Wilson; and a great-grandson, Malachi Phillips. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Diane Phillips; one brother and two sisters.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2018 at Graceland Cemetery West, Greenville, SC.
The family is at the home.
