Betty Jean Griffin Sanborn, 80, widow of Bruce M. Sanborn, went to join her heavenly Father and family on Thursday, November 12, 2009. Born in Gastonia, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Nell Griffin.

Many wonderful and special memories of her are treasured by her children Bruce M. Sanborn, Jr., of Greenville, SC and Kelli (Paul) Dulin, of Easley, SC. Granddaughters Rebecca Dulin, of Columbia, SC and Casey Dulin, of Charlottesville, Virginia share memories of a doting, loving grandmother. Her sister Janet (John) Neely of Tallahassee, Florida and a very special neice, Carol (Larry) Pike, of Glasgow, Kentucky join in special family remembrance of her. She will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to her parents and husband of 42 years, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.

Graveside Services and burial will be 1:00 pm Monday in Gaston Memorial Gardens, Gastonia, NC.

Visitation will be from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley, SC.

The family wishes to extend a special appreciation to the staff of the Willows of Easley for the years of wonderful care, love and friendships extended to her during her time with them. A most heartfelt and sincere thanks for the devoted care, encouraghement, laughter and compassion lovingly shared with "Granny" by the staff of The Haven at Chanticleer and members of the Lutheran Hospice during the final months of her life.

Knowing Betty brought a light to everyone's life. Her family extends their thanks to all who added light to her life. We are all richer for having had her in our lives.
