Betty Jo Smith Wham

Mrs. Betty Jo Smith Wham, 89, wife of the late Charles Bradley Wham, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late William Robert Smith and the late Nancy Ann Hoback Smith, Mrs. Wham retired from the Litchfield Company and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church of Mauldin.

Surviving are her daughter, Nina Wham DuBose (David) of Summerville; her son, Rudy Childs (Sherry) of Rome, GA; her grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan DuBose; and her two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Charlie DuBose. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wham was predeceased by six brothers, Robert Smith, Randolph Smith, Rudolph Smith, Bill Smith, Cavel Chandler and Carlisle Chandler; and four sisters, Marcella Smith, Dorothy Eagle, Evelyn Hughes and Helen Burton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Scroll to the video player below to view the service. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
