Bettye D. Medlock, Clemson

Bettye DuPre Medlock, 88, wife of the lateHenry Hammond Medlock, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Brighton Gardens in Greenville. Native of Abbeville, SC and a daughter of the late William S. and Eleanor DuPre. She graduated from Abbeville High and attended secretarial school in Greenville. She worked for the Agricultural Association in Abbeville and received a certificate of recognition for her contribution. She was a homemaker and mother of four who loved playing bridge, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Clemson United Methodist Church, served as treasurer for the John C. Calhoun Chapter of the U.D.C., and worked at Clemson Jewelers.

Survivors: sons, Michael DuPre Medlock and wife Kathie, Alexandria, VA; Henry Townes Medlock and wife Joanne, Easley, SC; daughters, Judy M. Haynes and husband Joe, Greenville, SC; Margaret M. Edwards and husband Wendall, Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Jan PatrickMedlock and wife Leigh Anne Sides, Julie Elizabeth Medlock, Jennifer Lauren Medlock and Jessica Erin Haynes. She was predeceased by brothers, William C. DuPre and Fred A. DuPre; sisters, Eleanor Ashley, Sarah DuPre and Margaret Broome.

Graveside services for the family will be held at 1:15pm on Wednesday, December 5, at Old Stone Church followed by a Memorial service at 2pm at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clemson United Methodist Church, PO Box 590 Clemson, SC 29633 or Southern Care Hospice, 6000 Pelham Road, Suite B, Greenville, SC 29615 or charity of your choice.
