Bill Evans

William Ellis Evans, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

He was born in Tokyo, Japan on February 20, 1949, the son of the late Dr. William Ellis and Mary Ellen McCants Evans.

Bill was a 1967 graduate of TL Hanna High School in Anderson, SC and earned a B.A. in Biology from Erskine College in 1971. He then completed his Doctor of Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina. Bill held many leadership positions throughout college and professional school. He served as a leader in both the South and North Carolina pharmaceutical associations, and during his long and successful career, he was honored with several professional awards.

His greatest love was for his children, Ellis Major (Heath) and Zak Chapman (Caytee). Besides his children, Bill is survived by his brothers, Ed Evans and Chris Evans (Norma) and sisters Gracie Farrow (Glenn), Emalee Dillard (Mark), and Jeannie Everett (Kent).

Bill has been, and will always be, loved by all his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

The Memorial Service will be led by Bill's uncle, the Reverend Clyde Taft McCants on Friday, April 13,2018 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Erskine College Annual Fund, PO Box 338, 2 Washington St., Due West, SC 29639.
