Bill Perry, 88, of 103 Baldwin Place, husband of Bette Hiott Perry, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at Haven Village at Chanticleer.
Born February 17, 1926 in Taylorsville, GA, he was the son of the late M. A. and Mineola Allen Perry. Mr. Perry graduated from Rockmart High School, Berea College and Emory University School of Law. He was a retired Captain in the US Navy serving in the J.A.G. Corps. Mr. Perry was a member of Easley First Baptist Church, Easley Lions Club, volunteered for United Christian Ministries and Meals on Wheels.
In addition to his wife of sixty-seven years, he is survived by his daughters, Victoria Perry, of Louisville, KY, Mary Jane Hodges (Keith) of Brunswick, GA, Susan Perry Whitlock (Bill) of Easley, Martha Estes of Tampa, FL, and Julie Perry Landers (Dan) of Lexington, SC; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Perry was predeceased by a sister, Jane Perry.
A service of celebration will be at 1:30 PM Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Easley First Baptist Church. The Committal Service, with full military honors, will follow in the Veterans Garden of Honor at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
