Billie Faye Morrison Harvey, 99, of Central, SC was welcomed into heaven on August 17, 2026, following a recent, severe fall. Born in Gastonia, NC on November 12,1926, to Harry R. Morrison and Clara Comer Morrison, she was the widow of Edward “Bob” Harvey, who passed away in 2005.
Billie Faye was a beloved member of the Central community and, up until her fall, remained active and had an amazing memory. Her friends and family have been looking forward to celebrating her remarkable life in November for her 100th birthday.A professional proofreader/editor for most of her adult life, retiring at age 98 (!), she also served as an Administrative Assistant to the late Dr. Les Parrott, President of Eastern Nazarene College, and the late Dr. James Hunton, District Superintendent of the Philadelphia District Church of the Nazarene. After graduating from college at the age of 62, she was named Alumni Director at Central (SC) Wesleyan College, now Southern Wesleyan University, where she served for several years.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 59 years, she was preceded in death by her 22-year-old son, Edward Harvey. She is survived by three daughters: Anne Smith and her husband, Rev. Newell Smith of Kissimmee, FL; Clara Eads of Clarksville, OH; Martha Mosley and her husband, Dr. Gary Mosley of Central, SC; a brother, Harry Morrison of Charlotte, NC; 8 grandchildren: Matthew Smith (Carrie), Alissa Eads Davis (Jeff), Amber Eads Faucett (Aaron), Trisha Smith Latif-Butler (Sean), Dominique Mosley Fannin (Josh), Michael Mosley (Katy), Ryan Mosley (Beth), Kaitlin Mosley Cromer (Noah); 31 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Trinity Wesleyan Church (700 Issaqueena Trail, Clemson, SC 29631) where she was the oldest living member, with Rev. Don Milstead officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., prior to the service.
Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery, 540 North Broad Street, Gastonia, NC, 28054, on August 22, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Newell Smith officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home of Central, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Morrison-Harvey Scholarship” at Southern Wesleyan University through swu.edu/give/. Please designate “Morrison-Harvey Scholarship, or mail to 907 Wesleyan Drive, Central, SC.
