Billie E. Kinard

Easley, SC

Billie Elmore Kinard, a cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother, passed away on March 10, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born to James L. and Wilhemina C. Elmore on May 18, 1938.

Billie shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Frank D. Kinard. On February 28, 2024, they celebrated their diamond anniversary, a testament to the enduring love and commitment they shared.

For 55 years, Billie called the Brushy Creek Community on Pineview Drive in Easley, South Carolina, her home. Later, she returned to her hometown of Anderson to reside at Dominion Senior Living on North Highway 81.

A steadfast member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church for 57 years, Billie's commitment to her faith was evident in her 30-year service in the preschool department, where she worked alongside other dedicated women. Together with Frank, she served on the Compassion Team, embodying the values of love and service.

Billie is survived by her loving husband, Frank, and two sons, Brad Nixon and his wife Kristin, and Michael Kinard and his wife Lori. She leaves behind cherished memories for her four grandchildren: Bradley Nixon, James, Lorianne, and Michaela Kinard. Additionally, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Rachel F. Elmore, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Wilhemina C. Elmore, her brother James (Jack) Elmore, sister Sydney E. Stephens, and brother-in-law Charles Stephens.

Billie dedicated 35 years of her life working at Mt. Vernon Mills (Pamplin and Co.), leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and community.

A service to celebrate Billie’s life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with a visitation starting at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be sent to Brushy Creek Baptist Church at 100 Clay Street, Easley, SC 29642, or to Hospice of the Upstate at 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

As a focal point of Billie's life, the family has chosen Psalm 100 to serve as a guiding light during this time of remembrance and reflection.

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations."

May Billie Elmore Kinard's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire love, joy, and gratitude among those who knew her.
