--Easley

Billy Charles Grant, Sr., of 118 Avalon Circle, husband of the late Sue Mauldin Grant, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at McCall Hospice House.

Born June 9, 1934 in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Charlie Brooks and Mary Lou Ella Porter Miller Grant. He was a US Navy veteran and was a retired communication technician with Western Union with over 30 years of service. Mr. Grant was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Grant is survived by his sons, David Grant, (Paula) and Billy C. "Bud" Grant, Jr., (Kathy) all of Easley; brother, Cody Miller; grandchildren, Mitchell Grant, Casey Grant and Jamie Grant; and special friend, Martha Holcombe.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Bud Grant, Fred Grant, Paul Miller, George Miller and Jack Miller; sisters, Annie Pace, Carole Chastain, Ethel Cannon, Ella Chappell Gillespie, Gladys Tanner and Velvia Miller.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2011 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of David and Paula Grant, 304 Dogwood Ln., Easley, SC.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 501 Rampey St., Easley, SC 29640.
