Billy Ray Harper

Billy Ray Harper, 87, husband of the late Carolyn Boyer Harper, passed away peacefully Monday, November 25, 2019.
Born in Minden, LA, a son of the late Sam A. Harper and the late Ella Sanders Harper, he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed traveling, bargain shopping, and spending time with family. He was retired from Flour as a safety manager after more than thirty years of service and he was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a son, Alan R. Harper (Sandra) of Greenville; daughters, Denise H. Thomas (Steve) of Piedmont and Debra H. Bolt (Pete) of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Rachel T. Joye (Jeremy) of Barnwell, SC and Samantha E. Bolt of Murrells Inlet; and great-grandchildren, Harper Leigh Joye and Mary Quinn Joye, both of Barnwell, SC.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2019 at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Road, Piedmont, SC 29673.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or to hospicehouse.net.
