Charles Edward "Billy" Looper, 84, of 576 Shoals Creek Church Road, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

A native of Dacusville, he was a son of the late Henry Arthur and Dora Friddle Looper. He retired from Renfrew Bleachery as a dye range operator. He was a member of Nine Forks Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Looper was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Phillipines during WWII.

Surviving are a son, Charlie Looper; a daughter, Kathy Wilson; two brothers, Lake Looper, Clayton Looper, all of Dacusville; two grandchildren, Jeremy Noon, Shelley Noon Parnell; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan & Kelan Parnell, and Nikki Noon. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Frances Swayngham Looper; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday at Nine Forks Baptist Church with Reverends Jack Hester and Eddie Capps officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM and will be placed in the church at 1 PM on Friday.
