Billy Neal Mitchell, 86, of Anderson, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the home of his granddaughter.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Rev. Rufus Sr. and Willie Mae Allison Mitchell. Billy owned Mitchell Painting Company in Anderson, and enjoyed doing yardwork. Mr. Mitchell proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by two sons, Michael Neal Mitchell (Susan) of Easley, and Timothy S. Mitchell of Myrtle Beach; one daughter, Tammerlaine Moorehead, of Anderson; one brother, Jack Mitchell, of Anderson; one sister, Betty Moon; four grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one daughter, Patricia Moody; one son, Rufus Mitchell, Jr.; one grandson, Steven J. Moore; and one sister, Barbara Holliday.
The family will host a private memorial service at a later date.
