Billy Ray Whitman, 66, of 122 Robinson Lake Pointe, passed away Sunday March 27, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Whitman was born in Greenville, a son of the late Julius Franklin and Etolia King Whitman. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and was of the Church of God Faith.
Surviving are his wife, Olivia Bryant Whitman, of the home; a step-son, Vardry M. Norris, III, of Panama City Beach, Florida; two brothers, Bryan L. Whitman (Kelly), of Easley and Freddie S. Whitman (Elaine), of Greenville; two sisters, Judy D. Landreth (George), of Easley and Carolyn A. Huff, of Powdersville; 3 grandchildren, Summer S. Mills (Seth), of Greenville, Candice L. Gilliam, of Easley and Jesse A. Page, of Dacusville; 4 great-grandchildren, Charity Johnson, Haleigh Gilliam, Isaiah Mills and Evan Gilliam.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kelly Norris Page.
A memorial service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with Dan Collins, Esquire and Seth Mills officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Nix, 103 Lochmere Court, Easley, SC 29642.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 310, White Plains, NY 10605.
