Billy Hugh (Bill) Wilhelm of 102 Berry Street, Clemson, husband of Sarah Cashin Wilhelm and father of Michael Wilhelm of Decatur, GA and Randall Wilhelm of Knoxville, TN passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010. Bill was the 7th child of Jacob Lawson and Edith Upright Wilhelm of rural Rowan County, North Carolina. Two sisters, Thelma Price of Landis, NC and Hazel Stirwalt of Charlotte, NC survive.
Bill had degrees from Catawba College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was hired by Frank Howard in 1957 to coach the Clemson Baseball team which he did for 36 years. He also served as Intramural Director for the first 12 ½ years of his tenure.
Bill�??s body has been donated for study and in accordance with his wishes there will be no services.
