Blanche C. Ray, 74, of Central, SC, passed away on December 21, 2025. Blanche was born in Central, SC to the late Reverend Leroy and Mrs. Loma Cox.
Blanche, a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, gave her life in service to His kingdom. She loved Jesus, her husband, and her family. Her passion for serving the Lord was evident in her role as a pastor’s wife. She faithfully served in many positions in the church through her years of doing ministry alongside her husband.
Blanche earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Wesleyan University in education and later earned her master’s from Gardner Webb University. She was a dedicated Special Education teacher for over thirty-five years. She was known for her loving and caring personality, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Blanche took great pride in her family, who was her proudest accomplishment. Blanche enjoyed camping with her family, traveling, and engaging in activities that brought her closer to her faith and her family. Blanche would always be at any event that involved her grandchildren whether it be a sports event, recital, or school event. She will be remembered for her kindness, devotion, and the positive impact she made on many lives.
Blanche is survived by her cherished husband of 55 years, Reverend Jackie D. Ray; sons, Dr. Brian Ray (Shannon), Jason Ray (Sabrina), and Dr. Josh Ray (Rhonda); brother, Dr. Thomas Cox (Lori); sister, Ruth Atcheson (Marty); grandchildren, Drayden Ray (Lily), Meredith Moore (Kyle), Grayson Ray (Madison), Faith Rodriguez (John-Luke), Olivia Ray, Taygan Ray (Savannah), Abbey Milliken (Alex), Claire Ray, Nali Ray, Sawyer Ray, Eli Ray, Sincere Ray, and Silas Ray; great-grandchildren, Nora Ray, Dutton Ray, Harper Moore, Esther Moore, Emerson Rodriguez, and Gideon Ray.
In addition to her parents, Blanche is preceded in death by her brother Virgil Cox (Becky).
A visitation will take place on Friday, December 26th, 2025, from 1:00-1:45 pm at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home starting at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Mount Zion Cemetery.
