Ralph "Bob" Cash Andrews, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.
Mr. Andrews was born in Jefferson, Georgia on January 22, 1921 to the late Ralph Andrews, Sr. and Nena Mae Pinson Andrews. "Bobby," as he was known to family and friends, graduated from Tech High School in Atlanta. He married Lanore Mae Setzer, his wife of 69 years. Bob served his country during WWII and was wounded when his B17 was shot down over Berlin on April 29, 1944. He was held by the Germans as a POW until liberated by the British Army on May 2, 1945. After WWII, he entered Georgia Tech and earned a degree in engineering. He and Lanore resided in Easley, SC for over 30 years. They spent the last 2 ½ years together at Emeritus of Greenville. Theirs was a love story for the ages and an example to many.
Mr. Andrews is survived by his wife, Lanore Setzer Andrews; a daughter Diana Allen and husband Jerry of Winston Salem, NC; a son, Steven Andrews and wife Sherry of Chesapeake, VA; five granddaughters, five great grandchildren (and one on the way); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Andrews was predeceased by a brother, Nat Andrews and a granddaughter Elizabeth Andrews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 11, 2012 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville with Rev. Stephen Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
