Robert Reece "Bob" Spearman, 72, of 301 Four Lakes Drive, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, Mr. Spearman was a son of the late Jacob Marshall and Sara McMahan Spearman. He graduated from Easley High School in 1958 and attended Clemson University, where he studied Civil Engineering. He founded Spearman Land Surveying Co. in Easley, and he was a member of Northwest Chapter of the South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors. A former realtor with Barnes and Associates, Inc., he was co-founder of Golden Key Realty Co. and co-founder of Dunn and Associates Engineers of Easley and Nu-South Surveying Co. in Anderson.
Mr. Spearman was a founding director and a member of the Board of Directors of Cornerstone National Bank. His activities included being a member of Joe's Coffee Club, Montana Fishing Club, and Spero Hunt Club, Abbeville, S.C. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Easley, where he belonged to the E.R. Eller Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Owen Spearman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Topher Berry of Aiken; two brothers, John M. Spearman (Ruby) of Easley and Dr. William W. Spearman (Lucy) of Pickens; and three grandchildren, Reece, Emily, and Christa Berry.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Easley with the Rev. Dr. John Adams and the Rev. Rick Baumgarner officiating.
Escort of Honor will be the E.R. Eller Sunday School Class, members of the Board of Directors of Cornerstone National Bank, Joe's Breakfast Club, the Montana Fishing Club, and the Spero Hunt Club.
A private committal will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 300 East First Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
