Leila Bobbie Batson Gillespie, 68, of 311 Hill Street, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late C.H. and Leila Fuller Batson. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Gillespie is survived by her husband, James E. Gillespie of the home; two sons; Larry and Lee Gillespie of Easley; one daughter, Joyce Ross of Piedmont; three brothers, Lewis Batson of West Union and Dewey (Snake) Batson of Easley and Johnny Batson of Westminster; one sister, Grace Breazeal of Dacusville; eleven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gillespie was predeceased by two daughters, Doris Robinson and Debbie Gillespie; a brother, Calvin Batson and one grandchild, Stanley J. Robinson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, officiated by Rev. Charlie Bishop. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 p.m until 5:00 p.m.
The family is at the home of a daughter at 106 Robin Ridge Circle, Piedmont.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
