Mr. Bobby Glenn Gillespie, Sr., 74, husband of the late Shirley Jean Ragan Gillespie, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at the home of his daughter.
Born in Asheville, NC, a son of the late Edgar Francis and Lillian Freeman Gillespie, Mr. Gillespie retired from JP Stevens and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Edwin "Chuck" Gillespie (Lisa) of Easley, Derral Glenn Gillespie (Sheila) of Taylors, and Bobby Glenn Gillespie, Jr. (Scarlett) of Pickens; four daughters, Strita G. Pennyman (Dwayne) of Easley, Teresa Louise Feno (Randall) of Easley, Stephanie Kelley (Jimmy) of Pickens, and Christy George of Georgia; three brothers, Bill Gillespie (Pat), Gary Gillespie and Junior Gillespie; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Gillespie was predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn Waycaster and Joyce Chandler.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, June 2, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Strita and Dwayne Pennyman, 110 West Oakland Road, Easley, SC 29640.
