Bobby Gene "Red" Hayes, 78, of 710 Maw Bridge Road, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Easley Baptist Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Rev. John L. and Mattie Gibson Hayes. He was a retired textile worker and was of the Holiness faith.
Surviving are his son, Michael Gene Hayes (Denise) of Central; sister, Carleen Burke of Oconee County; grandchildren, Brandon Michael Hayes and Amanda Hurley (Daniel); and great-grandsons, Derrick and David Hurley.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Whitman Hayes; brother, William Hayes; and sister, Ellie Rowland.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Ryder's Mountain Church in Westminster.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:50 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
