Bobby D. Hunter, 67, of 327 Cranberry Hill Circle, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House of Anderson.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Doyle Russell and Vincie Peek Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a veteran of the US Navy and was retired from Bellsouth after 32 years. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church, the Carolina Shag Club, the Electric City Shag Club, and was a lifetime Mason at the Judson Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Fox Hunter of the home; a son, David Hunter and wife Heather of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, Joni Smith and husband Mark of Lincolnton, NC; a sister, Mary Ann Gibson of Greenville; five grandchildren, CWO2 US Army Andrew Hunter of Hawaii, Colette Hunter, Joseph Hunter and wife Melissa, Nikki Hunter all of Virginia Beach, VA, Hunter Smith of Lincolnton, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Braydon Hunter of Clarksville, TN, and Madison Hunter of Virginia Beach, VA.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
A private committal service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anderson County Meals on Wheels; PO Box 285; Anderson, SC 29622 or to Camp Courage (a camp for children with cancer); PO Box 17213; Greenville, SC 29606.
