Bobby Joe Tinsley, Sr., 85, husband of Darlene Roper Eades Tinsley, of Pendleton, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Tinsley, Sr. and the late Ethel Wardlaw Tinsley.

Bobby was the owner and operator of Tinsley's Upholstery for more than 35 years and attended High Praises Church, Williamston.

In addition to his wife, Bobby is survived by his children, Bobby Joe "Joey" Tinsley, Jr. (Easter) of GA, Michael Christian Tinsley of OK and Leah Hope Tinsley of FL and his wife's children, Travis Eades (Starr) of Easley, JJ Eades (Debbie) of Ft. Inn and Kathryn Beaty (Ivan) of TN, all of whom loved him dearly. He is also survived by his brother, Willie Hugh Tinsley (Judy) of Pelzer; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 4 years, Sondra Wilkinson Tinsley and his second wife of 56 years, Emma Faith Sentell Tinsley. He was also preceded in death by a son, Marty Tinsley, his brothers, Woodrow "Woody" Wilson Tinsley, Jr. and Wayne Tinsley; his sister, Wanda Dresser; and his stepmother, Evelyn Aline Burrell Tinsley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the funeral home.
