Bobby Joe "B.J." Turner

Bobby Joe "B.J." Turner, 81, husband of the late Clara Lois McGuire Day Turner, of Easley, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late James and Vera Darby Turner.

B.J. was a truck driver for about 30 years, retiring from W.R. Grace & Co. and later owning and operating a cleaning business and a wedding boutique, along with his late wife. He attended Donaldson Church of God and was a member of Tremont Church of God. He truly was a lover of life.

B.J. is survived by daughters, Sherry Hicks (Tommy) and Lisa Spratt, both of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Jason Guthrie (Sarah), Corey Ashley (Heather), Tyler Martin (Janice), Kyle Hilley, Michael Hilley, Lacy Garren, and Amber Burgess; great-grandchildren, Landon Martin, Layton Ashley, Bailey Guthrie, Braxton Ashley, Mason Guthrie, Emmy Ashley, Madison Geary, Skyler Johnson, Emma Martin, Gavin Schmitz, and Connor Burgess; and a special nephew, Roger Dale Turner.

In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by a son Larry Turner, a sister Annette Evans; and brothers, Albert, Ellis, and Ezelle Turner.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at Tremont Church of God. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at the church.
