Bonney Barron

Bonney Sue Barron (Wagner), 79, left her earthly body to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Bonney was born in Greensburg PA, to Quentin and Reba (Mock) Wagner on 3/20/46.

Along with her parents and older brother Richard Wagner, she lived in and grew up in Youngwood PA.

She did well in school and was a majorette throughout high school. Bonney went on to receive an Associate’s degree in Nursing.

Bonney was married to the late Richard Bernard for 17 years. They had 3 daughters together: Lesley Ann Kirkpatrick, Jennifer Kerr (Aaron Kerr) and Corey Bittner (Robin Bittner).

A few years later, John Barron and Bonney had a chance meeting one day. They had known each other for years but lived parallel lives. This chance meeting turned into 35+ years of marriage. Bonney then became a bonus mom to Joni Keller ( Ray Keller) and Bridget Kerchner.

Bonney spent 45 years as a Labor and Delivery nurse in PA & NC. She loved helping women and families through the best and sometimes the worst times in their lives. She mentored many new nurses and finished her years educating her peers.

She had a green thumb growing many flowers and plants. She enjoyed crocheting multiple blankets for family and friends. She also crocheted hats for NICU babies even after she retired.

She was a member of Grace Chapel Church in Sanford NC and most recently at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley SC. She was very involved at Grace Chapel helping out with different events, hosting bible studies, being the “social director” of her Sunday school class and having soup parties at her home.

But most of all, she enjoyed her family. She would light up every time a new grandbaby or great grand baby was born. Along with John, her blended family of 5 daughters, Bonney is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 6 nieces, 4 nephews and their families.

John and Bonney spent many precious wonderful years together experiencing the good, the bad and the ugly that comes with life. Their bond never wavered. They were soulmates to the end.

Bonney's Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Flowers will be accepted and appreciated, as Bonney was very fond of all beautiful flowers and plants.

She will be greatly missed.
