Bonnie Hazel Young Smith, 90, of 224 Micasa Drive and widow of James H. Smith, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2012.
Born in Pickens County, she was the youngest and the last surviving of 13 children of John Lewis and Annie Thomas Young. She was a homemaker, a member of Freedom Fellowship of Central and a loving wife, mother and friend.
Surviving are two daughters, Beth S. (Larry) Walker of Lakemont, GA and Sylvia S. Durham of Pendleton, SC; son, David L. (Lisa) Smith of Easley, SC; 8 grandchildren, Bonnie-Lynne Wilson, Summer Walker-Escoe, Kimberly Williams, Cort Smith, Ashlea Smith, Dana Chavous, Torrey Gilstrap and Raena Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son James H. Smith, Jr.
Funeral services will be 3 PM, Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with burial to follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
