Bonnie Tippey

September 10, 1925 — November 5, 2014

Bonnie Mae Pridemore Tippey, 89, wife of the late Wayne E. Tippey, met her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2014, at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born on September 10, 1925, in Buffalo, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Margaret (Osborne) Pridemore and was a graduate of Central College (now Southern Wesleyan University), Marion College (now Indiana Weslyan University), and Ball State University. She taught school for 35 years, and also worked along side her husband in Wesleyan church pastorates. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Central, SC.

Wayne and Bonnie met at Marion College and were married in Whitmire, SC, on December 28, 1950. They celebrated 63 years of marriage. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Sheryl (Dale)Link of Seneca and Jo (Doug)Terry of Myrtle Beach; four grandchildren, Joseph (Heather) Terry of Clinton, Amanda (David) Harris of Seneca, Jen (Christian) Sabillon of North Charleston, and Andrea (Tommy) Battles of Seneca; and five great-grandchildren, Isaac Harris, Harper Terry, Ethan Harris, Charlotte Battles and Liam Sabillon. Also surviving are seven brothers and sisters, Rosa Lee (Bill) Clowney of Union, Essie (Mel) Fechter of Sarasota, FL, Shirley (Brice) Sturkie of Lexington, Alma Faucett of Union, Carl (Jo) Pridemore of Summerville, Earl (Betty) Pridemore of Union and Bill (Irina) Pridemore of Greer. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by sisters, Mildred and Elizabeth and brothers, Carson and Robert.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Lesley, the Beacon Hospice nurse who cared for both Wayne and Bonnie in their last months. Also, a special thanks to Charles and Cheryl Washington, long-term caregivers.

Funeral services are on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM, at Trinity Wesleyan Church, 700 Issaqueena Trail, Central, SC.

Visitation will be from 12:45 to 1:45 at the church before the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West, White Horse Road, Greenville, SC.

The family is at the home of Dale and Sheryl Link, 3037 Woodale Circle, Seneca, SC.
