Boyd Joseph "B.J." Todd, 84, husband of Edna McMillan Todd, of 150 Downs Boulevard, A-103, Clemson, SC 29631, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at Clemson Downs Health Care Center. Born in Horry County, South Carolina he was the son of the late Mack C. Todd and Arcy Faulk Todd of Loris, S.C. He was a member of Clemson University's Class of 1944, earning his masters degree from Clemson and doctorate from North Carolina State University. He was Professor Emeritus of Industrial Management at Clemson University, a retired Naval Reserve Officer, having served with the Navy in the U.S. during World War II and was a member of Clemson United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Edna McMillan Todd of Clemson, son, Joseph M. Todd and his wife Kim of Greenville, daughter, Lucy Todd Tinsley of Greenville; brother, W. Leamon Todd of Myrtle Beach; sisters, Thelma Gerald of North Myrtle Beach and Leona Cole of Columbia and five grandchildren; Mac Todd, Neely Todd, Matthew Tinsley, Annie Tinsley and Robert Tinsley all of Greenville. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Langley Rankin.
Memorial services will be held at Clemson United Methodist Church on Sunday at 3pm preceded by a private committal service at Woodland Cemetery (Cemetery Hill). The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Boyd Joseph "B.J."Todd Endowment, Clemson Foundation, 110 Daniel Drive, Clemson, SC 29631 or to Clemson United Methodist Church, PO Box 590, Clemson, SC 29633.
