Brack Kirk Smith

Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather married Sally Ann Grahl on June 13, 1959, and passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at his home. He and Sally were married for 52 years before she preceded him in death in 2011.

Brack was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on September 3, 1938 to Von O. and Christine Marley Smith. He joined the US Air Force in 1954 and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1977 after a distinguished career. He earned an Associates Degree from Tri-County Technical College in Business and Accounting graduating with Honors. He later worked at Michelin in Sandy Springs and as a Field Engineer for Allied Signal in Bad Aibling Station Germany. He retired from Allied Signal in 1994.

Brack was the last member of his immediate family and is survived by a daughter VaughnDe K. Peterson; two sons Brack Kirk Smith Jr. (Sharon) and Carl A. Smith (Heather); and six grandchildren Stephanie Childs (Austin), Mathew Peterson and fiancé Kate, Sarah Peterson, Cameron Smith; Megan Owens (Anthony), and Kelsey Smith;  and one great-grandchild Bode Childs.

In addition to his parents and wife Sally, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law Terry Peterson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Private burial will be held at MJ “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson.
