Mrs. Brenda Gillespie Oglesby, 69, wife of Fred Oglesby, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at North Greenville Hospital, Travelers Rest.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Truman and Ellen McAbee Gillespie, Mrs. Oglesby enjoyed reading, gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving are five sons, Jody, Steve, Stan, Scott, and Sidney Oglesby; a brother, Pete Hawkins; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Oglesby was predeceased by a son, Michael Anthony Waldrop; a brother, Dewitt Gillespie; and a sister, Joyce Hughes.
Funeral services will be 12:30 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:15P.M. at the funeral home, prior to the service .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250, Attn: Gift Processing.
The family is at their respective homes.
