Brenda "Sherion" Wood

Brenda "Sherion" Wood, 76, of Easley, loving wife of Al Jackson Wood, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Born on December 1, 1946, in Royston, Georgia, Sherion was a daughter of the late Thomas R. and Lillian Freeman McCollum. Sherion was a loving and giving individual who touched the lives of those around her through her kindness and generosity. She was a 1965 graduate of Carolina High School and then had a fulfilling career that spanned several decades. She worked at Michelin as an Accounts Payable Supervisor and later pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by owning her own clothing store, Sherion's Petites in Greenville. Family was at the core of Sherion's world. Accordingly, she cherished her role as a wife and devoted herself to the happiness and well-being of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart, as she showered them with love and affection. Known for her compassionate nature, Sherion had an innate ability to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was offering words of comfort or providing practical assistance, she was always there for others. Her selflessness and caring nature touched the lives of many. Sherion's faith played a central role in her life. As a Christian woman, she drew strength from her belief in God and lived according to her values. Her faith guided her actions and brought comfort during challenging times. Sherion was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Outside of work and family life, Sherion found joy in traveling. Cruises held a special place in her heart as she embarked on adventures alongside her beloved husband. Exploring new places and creating memories together brought immense happiness to their lives.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by her two children, Cristopher Wood (Tracy), and Cherlon Allen (Andrew); a sister, Ann Fowler (Lyndell); four grandchildren, Cassidy Wood (Karen), Brayden Allen, Breanna Allen, and Brody Allen; and two great-grandchildren, Colton Wood, and Tucker Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
