Brian Charles Reeves

October 9, 1948 — March 18, 2024

Easley

Brian Charles Reeves, 75, husband of Sarah Sharpe Reeves, of Easley, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024.

Brian Charles Reeves was a decorated veteran. He retired from the United States Navy with many service honors during his 22 years. He was one of the youngest to achieve the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, BTCM. He proudly served his country during war and peacetime.

After retiring from the Navy, Brian started a business with 2 buddies creating BRW, Ship Repair and Welding. He started working on power plants in Oahu, Hawaii. Later, he joined AES Corporation, as a project manager, building energy production plants, domestically and abroad. While working with AES, he then started a consulting firm. His expertise in program planning, production operations, and complex contract management combined with language skills made him a respected and core asset on any program.

Brian was a vital man who passed away unexpectedly in his home at the young age of 75. He is survived by Sarah, his loving wife of 40 years, Lindsey, his loving daughter, and his two sisters, Susan Reeves and Wendy Reeves Dunn, and their families including his 3 nieces, 2 nephews and their families.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Horace B. Reeves, USAF Ret. and Yvonne L. Loveluck and his son Joshua P. Reeves, a USN Veteran whose passing designated the Reeves as a Gold Star Family. May Brian be reunited with his loved ones.

Brian’s love and care for his family was his top priority. He always made time to be with his family during many days at the lake fishing, or just watching movies. He especially enjoyed visiting with his extended family for holidays. Those days were often filled with laughter, hilarious stories, and treasured memories.

Brian cherished being a reliable friend who was always available to lend a helping hand. His knowledge and skills made him a popular addition to any team. He was eminently trustworthy, always maintained his integrity, and was unwavering in his commitment to the truth. He was the most loving, patient and forgiving person.

Brian was dedicated to any hobby he pursued. In his youth, he mastered snow skiing, hunting as well as crafting a canoe in Alaska. While stationed in Hawaii he mastered Scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, and golf. While he was there, his passionate interest in woodworking began. He dug out the basement, by hand, and installed his first table saw. After many years traveling the world, he was able to retire and fulfill his greatest dream of building “The Shop” with all of the bells and whistles of woodworking. He mastered furniture making providing tables, chairs, boxes, blanket chests, keepsake boxes, liquor cabinets, and bunkbeds. He made the headboard and footboard of the bed he slept in. He created desks and other pieces with his friends.

Brian was a problem solver, who often tactfully removed obstructions and devised practical solutions. He was a respected master woodworker, and friend at the Greenville Woodworkers Guild of SC. He became a permanent fixture as a shift supervisor and instructor. Brian enjoyed learning as well as teaching, often practicing a new method at home before sharing with his students. He became a trusted mentor there as well as a key contributor to charitable projects.

Brian is, and will always be, immeasurably missed by his family and friends. Most certainly, all who knew and loved him will fondly recall the mischievous twinkle in his eye and his ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed.
