William Brown Cartee

William Brown Cartee, 90, of 111 Scotland Road, husband of Lola Finley Cartee, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at Baptist Easley Hospital, following a sudden illness.
Born on September 17, 1920 in Oconee County, a son of the late Willie and Vera Brown Cartee, Mr. Cartee was a US Army veteran, having served in the Philippine Islands. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts. Mr. Cartee was retired from Alice Manufacturing Company, with forty-years of service, and was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of sixty-five years, Mr. Cartee is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Merck of Easley; grandson, Tory Merck and wife Dawn of Greenville.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Alton Nix and Mr. Charles Holliday officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM Wednesday, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the residence.
