Bruce C. Gibson, 82, of Mauldin and formerly of Easley, passed away May 20, 2009, in Denver, Colorado.


Born October 14, 1926, in Anderson County, Mr. Gibson was the first son of the late William Charlie Gibson and the late Inez Bolding Gibson Martin. After graduating from Easley High School in 1943, he established Gibson Pool Company in Greenville, where he worked until a 1982 car accident forced his retirement. His company built many residential and commercial pools in the Carolinas and beyond. Mr. Gibson was a Master Pool Builder and a founding member of and past president of the Southeastern Swimming Pool Association. He was also a Mason, a Shriner, and a former member of the Pleasantburg Rotary Club in Greenville.

He is survived by his former wife, Nell H. Gibson; three children, Jimmy L. Gibson of Easley, Pamela A. Gibson and her husband, Ted R. Bright of Denver, Colorado, and Patricia G. Robinson and her husband William A. (Alex) Robinson III of Belmont, North Carolina; grandchildren, Erika Gibson-Mull, and Katherine and Patricia Robinson; his sister, Ruby G. Hayes of Liberty; and his brother and sister-in-law, Larry R. and Bertie Gibson of Easley. Mr. Gibson was predeceased by his wife, Mary W. Gibson and his brother, Charles W. Gibson.


A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, May 30th, at 4 p. m., at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown.
