Buddy Jack Burgess, 61, of 156 Pleasant Drive, Martin, GA, formerly of Pickens, died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, a son of the late John and Willie Mae Bowen Burgess, Mr. Burgess retired as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Lucille Reeves Burgess of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Gregory and Rita Burgess of Easley and Brian Keith and Tammy Burgess of Martin, GA; two daughters, Karen Renee Shelton and her husband, Wayne, of Pickens and Crystal Mae Burgess of the home; a brother, Walter Andrew Burgess of Greenville; a sister, Doris Trotter of Six Mile; three granddaughters, Brandy Denise Thomas, Kayla Morgan Burgess and Megan Elizabeth Burgess; and two grandsons, Billy Wayne Shelton and Jack William Shelton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burgess was predeceased by a sister, Betty Dodson and a grandson, Thomas Gregory Burgess.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley, with Rev. Roger Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
The family is at the home of Greg and Rita Burgess, 273 Hitt Road, Easley, SC 29640.
