Butler Reece Elrod, 76, of 1903 River Road and husband of Melbree Chambers Elrod, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Piedmont, a son of the late R. Lewis and Frances Merritt Elrod and a graduate of Clemson University.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: three sons, Rick Elrod and wife Fay of Forsyth, GA, Randy Elrod and wife, Kathy and Danny Elrod and wife, Andrea all of Piedmont; one daughter, Nancy Sudduth and husband, David of Liberty; three brothers, Robert Elrod of Louisianna, Herbert and Frank Elrod both of Piedmont; and 7 grandchildren, Noe Sudduth, Jennifer Elrod, Corri Sudduth, Jeffrey Elrod, Brent Elrod, Daniel Elrod and Drew Hewston.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Martha Roberts Elrod.
Graveside services will be 10 AM, Saturday in Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Doug Ferguson and
Rev. Joe Hinton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM till 12 Noon at Welcome Baptist Church following the service.
The family is at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 2730 Anderson Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
