Cecil Milton "Milt" Oates, 76, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his home.
Born in Central, Milt was a son of the late Leonard "Shorty" and Jimmie Lou Bell Oates. He was a retired employee with Greenwood Mills in Liberty and was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church. Milt enjoyed fishing, loved horses and birds, playing the lottery, cutting grass, reading the newspaper, Clemson Tiger football and Elvis.
Surviving are daughter, Becky Oates of the home; son, Anthony Oates of Philadelphia, TN; brothers, Mickey Oates (Judy) of Pendleton, Sammy Oates (Vikki) of Seneca; sisters, Louise Rochester (Gene) of Walhalla, SC, Linda Whitlock of Liberty, Mary Ruth Black (Larry) of Liberty amd Debra Chambers (Slick) of Newry, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Marion Oates; sisters, Gail Elrod and Nancy Jane Oates; and brother-in-laws, Cecil Whitlock and Ray Elrod.
Memorial services will be 2 PM, Saturday in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with Revs. Darren Rood and Zephra Benson officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
