Reverend Calvin Garry Bryant, 61, of 306 Ragsdale Road, went to be with the Lord, Sunday August 10, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital.
Rev. Bryant was born in York, SC, a son of the late Friedheim and Allene Clinton Bryant. He received an Associates Degree from North Greenville University, attended Garner Webb University, and earned a B.A. and Masters Degrees from Southern Baptist Center for Biblical Studies. He was a retired Baptist Minister, having served as pastor of Harris Baptist Church in Harris, NC, Piedmont Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, NC, College Park Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC and Crosswell First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC for 23 years. Rev. Bryant served until 2006 as Chaplain of Pickens County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Powdersville.
Surviving are his wife, Carole McCarter Bryant, of the home ; three sons, Garry Bryant and his wife, Candace, of Pickens, SC, Chris Bryant and his wife, Lorie, of Easley, SC and Freddie Bryant and his wife, Kim, of Anderson, SC ; two sisters, Doris Crisp, of Clover, SC and Patty Hope, of York, SC and five grandchildren, Christopher, Meghan, Brittany, Ethan and Grace.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Bryant and a nephew, Andy Crisp.
The love of the Lord and serving Him and his family were the most precious things in his life.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Siloam Baptist Church with the Reverend David Blizzard, the Reverend Ron Lynch and the Reverend Eddie Burris officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum at Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley.
