Mr. Calvin Coolidge Duncan, 89, husband of Ruth Richardson Duncan, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late E.S. and Hattie Nix Duncan, Mr. Duncan retired from South Atlantic Insurance and was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church. He was a US Navy Veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of forty-six years, are a son, Ronnie Lee Duncan of Rosman, NC; four daughters, Gayle D. Gilstrap (Kenneth) of Liberty, Patricia D. Townsend of Lincolnton, GA, Carolyn D. Dodson (Phil) of Rosman, NC and Sherri D. Duncan of Brevard, NC; two sisters, Frances Green of Pickens and Eloise Haire of Rock Hill; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Duncan was predeceased by eight brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Thursday, July 27, 2017 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Phil McAlister officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
