Calvin B. Reeves

Calvin Bright Reeves, 92, of 500 Downs Loop, Clemson, died Thursday Morning, February 11, 2010 in Anderson.
Born in Conway Springs, Kansas, he was the son of the late Arthur Thomas and Pearl Elizabeth Beckner Reeves. Calvin was a retired Dairy Extension Specialist with the Clemson University Extension Service, a Professor Emeritus at Clemson University, a charter member of SC Dairy Tech Society, a member of American Dairy Science Assoc. of SC, a lifetime member of Dairy Shrine Club and was inducted into the Dairy Hall of Fame in 1981. He was a 47 year member of the Clemson Lions Club and a member of Clemson United Methodist Church for 54 years.
Surviving are his wife, Hilma Rae Hall Means Reeves of Dalton, GA; two sons, Arthur (Hellen) Reeves of Fountain Inn, SC and Norman Reeves (Anne) of Central, SC; two daughters, Mary Jane (Jim) Cooper of Maysville, KY and Lettie Catherine (Ken) Porter of Belton, SC; one brother, Joe Reeves of Boise, ID; two sisters, Phyllis Karrell of Nampa, ID and Hazel McKimmey of Cape Girardeau, MO; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of 57 years, Clara Jane Robison Reeves.
Memorial services will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Clemson United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Hutchison officiating.
