Carl Austin

Carl Austin, 85, long time resident of Central, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019.

Carl was a son of the late Roscoe and Sara Ann Acker Austin. He worked for Central Concrete and Plaster Company and Central Garage and retired from Deshields Trucking. Other longtime residents of Central would remember Carl as one of the strongest men they ever new. He was a hard worker and a very good mechanic. He was a member of New Olive Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by sons, Carl E. Austin (Sarah) of Norris and Tony Littles of Seneca; daughters, Samantha Austin of Clemson, SC and Charlene Dortch of Columbia; step sons, Casey Littles and Clarence Littles both of Clemson; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his longtime companion and former wife, Betty Patterson Littles.

In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his brother, Herman Austin; and sisters Ann Reese and Jonnie Mae Bennett.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Thursday in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 1 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
