Carlous Hueston Chappell, 87, husband of the late Annie Bell Lackey Chappell, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Chappell was born in Pickens County and was a son of the late Elec Cleman Randolph and Katie Angeline Stewart Chappell. He was a painter with American Enka, loved hunting, fishing and cow farming and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a son, Carl Chappell, Jr. and his wife, Margaret of Liberty; a daughter, Kathy McCall and her husband, Allen of Central; four grandchildren, James and Randy McCall and Charlotte and Chip Chappell; six great grandchildren, Austin and Dylan McCall, Mac, Mara, Landon and Felicity Chappell.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Elbert, Earl, Calvin, Clyde, Mack, Andrew and David Chappell; and two sisters, Ida Moore and Sallie Trotter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, September 11, 2017 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home.
