Carl L. Lane, Jr.

Carl Leaton Lane, Jr., 91, died peacefully Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was born February 11, 1928, in Raleigh, NC, a son of Carl L. and Anna-Mae Andrew Lane.

Carl graduated from High School in Raleigh, received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at NC State, and his PhD. from Purdue University. He was a retired as a professor from Clemson University after many years of service. He was member of First Baptist Church in Clemson.

Carl loved photography, being active with it since 1946. He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, and was an avid outdoorsman.

Carl is survived by his daughter-in-law, Charlene Atkins Lane, of Inman; two grandchildren, Sarah Abigail Lane and Rachel Glenna Lane; and a sister-in-law, Mary Sue Lane, of Raleigh, NC. In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his wife, Wilma; son, Carl David Lane; a brother William Earle "Pete" Lane; sister Anna Laura Turner; and brother-in-law Daniel Turner.

After a private committal service, there will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 1, at First Baptist Church of Clemson, 397 College Ave., Clemson.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM in the Family Life center at First Baptist Church of Clemson, prior to the service.
