Mrs. Carla Jean Crane Tinsley, 98, wife of Jack Dupree Tinsley, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, September 16, 2024.
Born in Easley, SC she was a daughter of the late William Carl Crane, Sr. and the late Sophie Welborn Crane. She was a 1944 graduate of Easley High School and later graduated from Furman University in 1947 where she received her Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She worked for Crane Chevrolet and later worked as Vice President and Secretary of Tinsley Crane Chevrolet for fifty-four years. Mrs. Tinsley was a life time member of Easley First Baptist Church and was one of the founding members of the Nosegay Garden Club. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 77 years, are her two daughters, Jeannie Tinsley Gilstrap of Easley and Pree Hamilton (Moseley) of Liberty; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Elyse Ott, Daena Ott Hough (Russell), Heather Ott Garry (Mike), and Phillip C. Ott (Susan); six great-grandchildren, Meagan Tinsley Wells (Jesse), Finn and Poppy Garry, and Victoria, Matthew, and Hannah O'Donnell; and three great-great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Violet, and Callie.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tinsley was predeceased by a brother, W.C "Bucky" Crane, Jr.; and two sisters, Evelyn C. Scott and Dorothy C. King.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:30 pm in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum 1, Pickens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 W Faris Rd. Greenville, SC 29605, or to the Pickens County Humane Society, PO Box 83, Liberty SC 29657.
