Carol Snipes Baker

Carol Snipes Baker, 85, of Ireland Road, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Hoke Snipes and Beulah “Beater” Howard.
Mrs. Baker was retired from Swirl Manufacturing and had previously worked for Sangamo in Pickens. She was a was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and was a regular contributing writer for the Pickens Sentinel. Her greatest joy was writing plays for The Senior Center in Pickens.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Roy Baker; and a daughter, Angela Carol Baker of Easley. She is the beloved “Aunt Carol” to many special nieces, nephews, and their families, both living and predeceased.
Mrs. Baker was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Simmons; and a brother, Jack Snipes.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in made in memory of Carol, and in honor of Roy, to Cross Roads Baptist Church, 160 Cross Roads Church Road, Easley, SC 29640.
