Carolene Elizabeth Lewis "Tottie" Marchbanks, loving wife for 72 years of the Honorable Claude V. Marchbanks, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at AnMed Health.
Born in Greenville, Tottie was the daughter of the late Claude and Gertrude Lewis. Along with her husband, she was very active in the community and was a member of The Christian Women's Club, University Women's Club and served on the Inauguration Committe for the late Governor Carroll Campbell.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter, Sherry and Eric Hudgins of Cedar Mountain, NC and their family, Adam & Torri Hudgins and Robert, Kristin and Quinn Sproule.
She was predeceased by her son, Dr. Marshall V. Marchbanks, MD and is survived by his family, Elaine Marchbanks of Edwards, CO, and Jessica, Nick and Marley Gifford.
Tottie devoted her life to her family. She was fiercely loyal, deeply loving, principled, courageous and thankful for the many joys of life. She adored flowers and birdwatching. She cherished friends who became as family, Ted and Karen Ramsaur and Ken and Wanda Whitener. Her life was lengthened by the daily devotion and considerable nursing skills of Karen Wald and the tireless efforts of Kim Littles.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, May 5, at 11:00 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC with Rev. Fred Andrews and Rev. Tamara Flinchum.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
