Caroline Adkins Lark

July 12, 1926 — September 9, 2023

Easley, South Carolina

Caroline Adkins Lark was promoted to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the age of 97. She was born on July 12, 1926, in Easley, South Carolina. Caroline was a woman of integrity, love, and unwavering faith.

Caroline was a graduate of Easley High School and Draughon’s Business College.  She worked her entire career as a bookkeeper for White Insurance Agency, where she met her lifelong friends Becky and Sarah.

Caroline loved Jesus above all else and served Him faithfully throughout her life.  She was a devoted Sunday School teacher at Rock Springs Baptist Church for over fifty years. Her passion for sharing her faith and guiding others touched countless lives. She also enjoyed attending circle meetings and traveling with her senior church friends. Caroline was an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

Caroline devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a strong and happy marriage with her husband Charlie.  They were rarely apart from one another and provided a wonderful example to follow. Caroline loved spending time with her family, including frequent vacations to Gatlinburg, Sunday dinners at her home, and both Easley and Clemson football games. Christmas was her favorite time of the year because it brought everyone together.  She enjoyed hosting family parties at her home to celebrate the season. She loved attending all of the sports events and dance recitals of her grandchildren, Kevin and Carole. Caroline treasured family and embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories with her loved ones. Her nurturing spirit and compassionate nature made her a pillar of strength for those closest to her.

Caroline Adkins Lark has left behind a powerful legacy that will be cherished forever. She is survived by her devoted son, Michael Lark (Sheila); a grandson, Kevin Lark (Nikole) and their children Ryleigh and Channing; and a granddaughter, Carole Simmons (Travis) and their children Noah and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Charlie Hovey Lark, and they are surely enjoying a reunion in Heaven. She was also preceded in death by her beloved parents Eugene "Jack" Haskel Adkins (father) and Bernice Cassell Adkins (mother); as well as her sisters, Kathryn Gunter, Gwendolyn Vaughan, and Jacqueline Bagwell.

The family would like to thank Heather, Angie, Joe, and Mark of Open Arms Hospice for their loving and compassionate care during Caroline’s final months.

To honor Caroline's remarkable life, friends, family members, and acquaintances are invited to attend the visitation at Rock Springs Baptist Church on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
