Mrs. Carolyn Faye Stokes Childress, 74, of 2241 Firetower Road, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at her home.

Born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late Haskell and Ruby Ferguson Stokes, Mrs. Childress was a homemaker and a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Hugh Leonard Childress, of the home; three sons, Hugh L. Childress, Jr. and David C. Childress, both of Easley and James E. Childress of Williamston; one daughter, Teresa C. Anderson of Piedmont; two brothers, Ronnie and Buddy Stokes, both of Piedmont; four sisters, Nancy McKinney of Piedmont, Frances Waldrop of Greer, Patty Hawley of Easley and Linda Stansell of Columbia; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Childress was predeceased by a daughter, Lenora J. Segars; one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.
